Maine East Boys Basketball
Varsity Strength Training is cancelled today Monday April 3rd. We are trying to put together a schedule that doesn't conflict with ALL IN practices. Please see Zain for more information.
Maine East Basketball strives to achieve athletic success without compromising academic standards or goals. The academic and personal development of every one of our basketball players will always remain our most important goal. Maine East Basketball promotes TRUST, UNITY, DISCIPLINE, INTEGRITY, HUMILITY, CLASS, and SPORTSMANSHIP.
We believe that basketball, as well as all sports, is an integral part of the total educational process at Maine East High School. Basketball teaches teamwork. Players learn how to work together to achieve a common goal. By practicing and competing, student athletes improve their self-image and confidence. By striving with teammates to be the best they can be, lifelong friendships are formed and greater self-esteem is fostered.
Education is the top priority of our program. This includes classroom education as well as lessons learned both on and off the court. Sports mirrors life. The arena of competition creates many situations that present our players with important life lessons. We consider the recognition and understanding of those life lessons an extremely important part of the growth and maturity of our players. The ability to deal with and overcome adversity is one such life lesson. This can be overcome through hard work and dedication. Thus, we expect our players to perform at a high level of competitiveness and intensity during every practice and contest.
Every player is an equally important part of our basketball program. It is our desire to provide our players with nothing less than a positive, rewarding experience no matter how far their career takes them in our program. Therefore, it is important that every player be given the opportunity to improve their fundamental skills as well as their knowledge and understanding of our system during the season/off season. We are committed to athletes who are good students, good people and good basketball players.
